TRUG
According to our man at TRUG (Taplow Rail Users Group), Jon Willmore, the World Rowing Championships are to be held at the Eton Rowing Club this year and that Taplow Station will be used as one of the main 'feeders' for club members and visitors. So around August we can expect a major influx of both drivers and rail passengers. This should put Taplow on the map. And although it is rather a long way ahead, at the 2012 Olympic Games Taplow will be one of the main rail feeders for the rowing events, again at Eton.
Incidentally TRUG has an office at the station (usually open on a Thursday), which is collecting and displaying a variety of historical information as part of the Brunel bi-centennial celebrations.
