Leonard Miall
The death of Leonard Miall was a sad blow to this Society. Leonard had been associated with it for many years. His wife was the first Secretary and, of course, he was the president for 12 or more years and an ex-editor of this Newsletter. In some ways he will be remembered for his great sense of humour: "We've got Fairies at the bottom of our garden" or, "these ancient beams fell off the back of a wain". But he will be remembered for his courtesy and kindness in and around Taplow. he was a wonderful man, and we will miss him. Some of the most admired people from the BBC were at his memorial service, and we were lucky to have someone of such charisma and capability living here.-- EvaLipman - 03 Mar 2005
