Comment on the new Local Plan

The planners calculate that they will have a space shortage against requirement even with all of the areas shown on the Options map. They are therefore conducting a review of Green Belt land. The Green Belt parcels diagrams show the areas around Taplow and the scores assigned. The employment investigation area in the east of Taplow around the A4 covers some parcels. The Green Belt cannot be regarded as sacrosanct and must be assessed against the findings in the Employment Area. This area is included principally because it was nominated in an earlier "Call for Sites" program. Inclusion can simply mean that someone or an organisation put it forward, which may well be a land owner interested in raising the value of his holding. Apart from any wider interest in the new plan, we expect our work to concentrate on evaluating this area against the quality of the affected Green Belt parcels.

Buckinghamshire Green Belt Assessment Part 1: Methodology and Assessment of Land Parcels (full report) to follow in due course.

The detailed evaluation report is at Site Evaluations

The * means the site is on Green Belt land.

SB0063* Land South of Taplow Station (from Call For Sites)

SB0296* Bishop's Gate, Station Road Taplow (from Employment Land Review)

SB0297 Marsh Lane, Taplow (from Employment Land Review)

These sites are in Phase 2 review by SBDC. Chiltern has completed its Phase 2 review and eliminated many sites as a result, so we need to watch for the SBDC update, which may remove some of the identified areas. Latest information is that SBDC will NOT update its Opportunity Sites list before the next public consultation, so we do have to make representations on all of those listed.
