Footpath notes
Public footpath maintenance is the responsibility of Buckinghamshire County Council. Present financial pressure mean that this is done at a minimum level. It is important that footpath condition are checked and BCC notified directly of any deficiencies. The Society provides this notes page as a log of maintenance conditions to monitor standards over time. Please add any comment directly or notify the secretary, identifying which footpath number is involved. BCC information on footpaths and rights of way is held at: http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/environment/rights-of-way/mapping-the-network/rights-of-way-network/13, 23 & 24 16/02/16 all accessible. Peter Mole 12 22/02/16 Surface damage from construction traffic needs attention J Marshall 10 20/02/16 For the main part this is clear. Under foot seems to be the problem where the path crosses Terry Stevens land after the kissing gate. The horses have churned it up and it is a mire. Not easy for joggers and walkers. You need heavy duty welllies to go across it. Also, the path by the OPG is once again very slippy and I have seen walkers almost falling. Mike Lowe (Summerleaze) did give us some gravel. Darren and I put it down in the worst areas before Christmas. This has bedded in well and mixed with the mud to makes it very firm. Perhaps he could be persuaded to give us some more? Lastly the path from Boundary Road Stables to Hitcham Road is very clear, however, once the hawthorn starts to grow we will need to keep an eye on it. From Hitcham Road to Lent Rise is also very clear. At the very end near the Farm the cattle have pushed down the fence so that it is almost at a right angle. From some reason they prefer the mud rather than acres of nice green pasture, maybe they get fed there?. The fence does need attending to before it no longer keeps the cattle in. Louise Symons
