The Society was formed in 1959 to protect Hitcham, Taplow, and the surrounding area
from bad development and neglect.
Main activities:
Newsletter
The
Spring Newsletter is now available.
Bishop Centre
The owners of the Bishop Centre are planning to demolish the existing buildings and
redevelop the whole site. Their initial plan centres on a large Tesco foodstore.
Many people in the area have strong feelings, so the Hitcham and Taplow Society has issued
a questionnaire to its members and will collate the answers on our
Bishop Centre 2011 page.
The planning application for this was narrowly approved early in 2012, but has been called in
by the Secretary of State. We await further news.
Mill Lane
Barratts are planning to develop the Mill Lane site.
There was an exhibition of their plans on Thursday 16th June 2011 in the old paper mill building. If you missed it, please have a look at the
Mill Lane exhibition website and send in your feedback by post or e-mail.
We have started a
Mill Lane 2011 page in the Forum to track the proposals.
AGM Draft Minutes
The
draft minutes of the 2010 AGM are now available.
HTS Diary
New feature: the
Taplow Diary
The website provides a
forum for everyone interested in the area to air their views on relevant issues.
Feel free to create a page and have your say, but please keep the content relevant, legal, and polite, OK?
